Summer is a season that you either love it — or you hate it. A lot people favor this time of the year because we particularly have an abundance of spare time to do the activities that we enjoy with our family, friends etc. Ultimately, when it boils down to my preference toward summer — I absolutely despite it. The unforgivably hot weather is simply too much for me, and the presence of the sizzling hot sun is not making the experience any better either. What makes matters worse is that the release dates for the upcoming games that I’m interested are so far and between.
As the weeks goes by, the temperature slowly declines, and the sun’s radiant rays are becoming less strenuous — it’s safe to say that we’re transiting into fall! Now, gamers can finally play comfortably in their homes without having sweat droplets constantly dripping across their forehead. Also, they can witness the intriguing autumn tree cycle with their very own eyes as well! Better yet, since fall is notorious for having such a stellar software lineup, it will definitely be captivating a lot of the audiences’ attention. It’s safe to say that gamers will be occupied for a very (and I mean very) long time.
Anyways, without any further adieu, here’s the upcoming fall 2014 games that I’m looking forward to:
1 – Hyrule Warriors:
“The Legend of Zelda” franchise happens to be one of my favorite Nintendo series! I practically played through most of the Zelda titles and it always left me with a smile when I’m venturing in Link’s ambiguous journey. Needless to say, I also recently became a fan of the “Samurai Warriors” series and the musou genre itself. For those who are not familiar with that foreign term, what it basically entails that you’re the leader of your division who’s hacking and slashing against waves of enemies and its ringleader. Nintendo and Tecmo Koei collaborated with each other to bring the gorgeous aesthetics and atmosphere from Zelda into Dynasty/Samurai Warriors-type gameplay with its core mechanics and functionality. With that being said, I simply can’t wait to get my hands on this game!

Available on Sept. 26 (or midnight on eShop).
2 – Super Smash Bros. for 3DS:
Does this game really need an explanation?! The “Super Smash Bros.” franchise is essentially the epitome of greatness in various aspects! This four player action brawling game features our favorite iconic Nintendo silhouette to settle the dispute. Likewise, the revival of numerous of memorable locations from different IPs essentially seals the deal with die-hard fans. Also, let’s not forget about the wicked items and modes that can turn a conventional match — into a dynamic scene that’s very eye-catching and chaotic. The latest installment towards the Smash Bros. series is simply worth the wait, especially after all of these years!

Available on Oct. 3 (or midnight on eShop).
3 – Bayonetta 2:
The crafty demonic witch who looked like she came straight out of hell is back and she goes by the name of — “Bayonetta.” In this game, she will be going on another bizarre adventure to save the world against the unknown forces. Of course, it wouldn’t be much of a journey if there weren’t any threatening new foes and massive titan-like bosses to obscure you along the way. I know there’s quite a bit of Nintendo fans who haven’t played the original game, thus they’re not interested in playing the sequel. No worries, Platinum Games decided to bundle the first “Bayonetta” game with the sequel with some additional content and Nintendo costumes. All for all, I’m can’t wait to sink my teeth into not one — but two games this fall!

Available on Oct. 24 (or midnight on eShop).
4 – Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric:
“Sonic the Hedgehog” is back and even bolder than ever for his upcoming venture into a mysterious island. On this tropical environment, Sonic’s friends will be accompanying Sonic’s mission to uncover the clues to Dr. Eggmans’ devious plans. “Sonic Boom” retains the classic trademarks that are prevalent in the previous titles such as the rings, the top-speed, the loops and what-not. While keeping the traditional factors, this game also features a exploration/platforming style of level design that’s reminiscent to the “Sly Cooper” series. Without a doubt, I really want to play this game the moment it hits the store.

Available on Nov. 18.
5 – Pokémon Omega Ruby / Pokémon Alpha Sapphire:
The long running “Pokémon” franchise is simply not a force to reckon with! This popular monster farming phenomenon has a slew of games, episodes, movies, and merchandise to its name. When Nintendo broke the news on their special E3 Nintendo Direct, Pokémon fanatics rejoiced the remake of the iconic Gameboy Advance game. The full fledge revision of “Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire” features revamped visuals, updated art style, and reimagined music. On top of that, these two juggernauts also have new features like the Mega Evolution and the updated Super Secret Bases within their arsenal. Nevertheless, millions of fans (and myself included) are eager to play our favorite GBA “Pokémon” game in a more updated manner.
