Exploring greater heights beyond the horizon
The mystical series of “Etrian Odyssey” continues to flourish among the hearts of RPG fans as Atlus announces two new entries via Nico Nico.
Within the live stream, the first title “Etrian Odyssey X Mystery Dungeon” was revealed for the Nintendo 3DS and it will be hitting the Japanese shelves on March 5, 2015. The trailer below contains highlights of the characters, story elements and gameplay segments for the following spin off:
Toward the end of the stream, the second title “Etrian Odyssey V” was teased as a successor to the main offerings that contained very little information regarding it. The brief trailer displays hints that the heroes will be venturing off into a new world that has “potential for disaster” in English text. Needless to say, the release date or platform has not been specified yet as this new entry is still in the early developmental phase.
Over the years, Atlus is widely recognized for developing high profile franchises such as the “Persona” and “Shin Megami Tensei” series. Given the fact that SEGA’s second party entity isn’t known for hosting web events, this rare occasion caught many gamers by surprise with the kind of announcements that were being made.
