As the release date gets closer and closer, more and more “Super Smash Bros.” information and rumors gets distributed to the public. The level of anticipation for the upcoming title is rapidly growing as time goes on! Likewise, Smash Bros. enthusiasts also have such high expectations for latest installment, given the fact that the previous games lived up their hype. Since “Super Smash Bros. for 3DS” is releasing relatively soon, fans are practically itching for some last minute news for their beloved franchise.
The video blogger NiNTENDODOMiNATiON recently tweeted a “Super Smash Bros.” picture of the character roster for the 3DS version. Here’s the picture from his Twitter page:

As we all know, all 36 characters that are shown in the screenshot are legitimate. Masahiro Sakurai, creator and director of the “Kirby” and “Super Smash Bros.” series, has been slowly revealing the returning characters through Miiverse and other media outlets. Moreover, Sakurai even went above and beyond to announce new and unexpected characters at gaming conventions. Needless to say, the question shouldn’t be whether those characters are real or not (because they are!). The real question should be: are all of those characters playable from the get-go?
Personally, I wouldn’t want those characters to be unlocked from the start of the game. If that’s the case, then the loyal Smash Bros. fan base would be highly disappointed by that picture. With all of the characters already unlocked, that basically sabotages most of the single player aspect toward the game. Furthermore, it also ruins the fun factor and the longevity of the title that the franchise is well known for. Sure, there’s more to the game than unlocking content, but still — it doesn’t feel rewarding if all of the features were given to the players right away.
If anything, let’s hope that the individual was playing with the most recent demo version of “Super Smash Bros. for 3DS.”
